Google Phone Arriving Soon

Google’s first attempt at creating a browser, Google Chrome, has been available for download (for Windows users only) for a few weeks now and reviews have been mixed. Now the next major product from the leading web search company is a rival smart phone, comparable to the iPhone and the latest Blackberries.

The Google Android phone looks likely to be released on the T-Mobile network within the next few weeks. Details are sketchy but the handset called the Dream is built on the open source Android operating system and will feature a full Qwerty slide-out keyboard, as well as a touch screen interface.

The equivalent to the iTunes App store, to be announced shortly by T-Mobile, is touted as being totally free for all applications for the first purchasers of the Android.
