iOS5 Available Today

Apple will today release the iOS5 software for all iPhone 3GS, iPhone 4 and iPads, two days before the launch of the new iPhone4S handset.

This software update introduces new features such as; updating your device wirelessly, iMessage (a form of messaging similar to Blackberry’s BBM), Twitter integration, a new Notification system, iCloud (a free, updated version of the previous MobileMe) as well as various improvements to existing apps such as Mail, Safari and the Camera.

The new voice-controlled system Siri, is unavailable in this update and will only be a feature on the new iPhone4S handsets.

iOS5 is available from within iTunes when your device is connected (‘Check for Update’ button if not prompted automatically).
